The Tactile Manifesto

{ “The Tactile Manifesto” examines whether the homogenizing effect of globalization curbs individuality and thus, creativity or whether it is possible for designers to maintain their (cultural) identities and creative spirit in a globalising environment. In this project, I have chosen to draw on my Indian background and the Australian environment where I am presently situated. Exploring this from my experience as a designer, my work suggests how it is possible to assimilate the Australian experience without compromising on my own identity, thereby demonstrating how the amalgamation of my Indian upbringing and Australian training can be in harmony, and not conflict. }
